1. What is the theme about? What is new and unique about this theme?
● It’s the first-ever basketball-themed VBS in the Philippines!
● Because we Filipinos enjoy playing or watching basketball, this theme uses the sport as springboard to share the Good News to people. It teaches children (also teachers) how to share the gospel using a basketball.
● It teaches children how they can become certified Champions for Jesus, and it discusses the different Christ-like traits that must be developed in a child.
2. Why is there only one Teacher’s Manual for all ages?
● VBS Crossover is designed for use by both large and small churches, so we have prepared a material that is friendly to classes with mixed-age groups.
● The Teacher’s Manual also offers options to customize your teaching for older or younger students. The material is also applicable to age-graded classes.
● The teachers will learn to adapt the material to their context instead of simply going through all the activities.
● Having one Teacher’s Manual makes things simple and easy as everyone is on the same page.
3. Why is there only one Student’s Journal for all ages?
● Having one general journal for students makes doing the activities easier for mixed-age groups.
● The Student’s Journal is carefully designed to include both simple
activities for younger students and activities more suited for older ones; it is also applicable
to age-graded classes.
4. How many levels does this curriculum have?
● Four for the printed material: Beginners (ages 4-6), Children 1 (ages
7-9), Children 2 (ages 10-12), and Youth (ages 13-15)
5. What does the VBS Crossover package include?
● 50 Player’s Journals (in full color)
● 3 Teacher’s Manuals
● 1 Director’s Manual
● 1 VBS Poster
● 50 Name Tags
● 250 Attendance Stickers
6. Are visual aids/Teaching Pictures included?
● Yes! The Teaching Pictures for each VBS day may be downloaded for FREE
from our website, www.csm-publishing.org. You can choose between the colored and black
& white versions.
7. Where are the attendance and song charts?
● We have given two creative ways on how you can record VBS Crossover attendance. These are both featured in the Teacher’s Manual and Director’s Manual.
● The song lyrics are all included in the Teacher’s Manual and Director’s
Manual. You can put them on PowerPoint slides or write them on cartolina or manila paper.
8. Why is there no Music CD? Where can we download the songs?
● Modern laptops no longer have CD players. So we have made the music
files available for download for FREE. Just sign-up HERE to fill up the information and proceed on the given link after.
9. What other resources are downloadable for FREE and what is the password?
● You can download teaching pictures, memory verse coloring sheets, as
well as drop down banners, promotional tarps, and promotional flyers. No password needed! Just
sign up for our FREE e-newsletter and we’ll send you the links. 😊
10. Are the Youth Lessons included in the package?
● No, but the manual for Youth Lessons may be bought separately. It
contains both VBS and follow-up lessons—13 lessons in all!
11. How much is the Youth Lessons Booklet?
● It costs Php 200, and it is available in both English and
Conversational Tagalog.
12. How many teachers/VBS staff would we need in order to hold this VBS?
● That would depend on the number of students you are planning to have.
At the very least, your VBS staff should be composed of a VBS Director, a secretary, a
treasurer, three teachers (for Beginners, Children 1, and Children 2), an assistant for each
teacher, kitchen crew, and security personnel, to serve 50 students.
13. How much is the whole VBS package?
● It costs Php 2,775.
14. Can we buy additional copies of the Student’s Journal and other
accessories?
● Yes, you can order through CSM’s partner bookstores or you can buy
directly from the CSM Bookcorner. You may also order loose copies of the Student’s Journal and other VBS accessories through CSM online stores at Lazada
and Shopee.
15. May we photocopy the materials?
● Please don’t photocopy or reproduce our materials. We have made them
available at affordable prices to help churches with tight budgets. When you buy our
locally-produced materials, you are helping to ensure that we can continue making quality
resources for Filipino churches year after year.
● Photocopying our materials would make extra work for you and produce
hard-to-read manuals and unattractive journals.
16. Where can we buy the VBS package?
● The VBS package is available at the CSM Bookcorner, at Philippine Christian Bookstore (PCBS) branches, Back to the Bible Bookstore, CLC Bookshops, and other Christian bookstores nationwide. These are also available at our online stores in Lazada and Shopee. You can also send an e-mail to order@csm-publishing.com and we can deliver the package to you.
