CSM Presents Creation Care Sunday School Curriculum
at International Conference on Creation Care

CSM presented its latest Sunday school curriculum, Creation Care, at the first Southeast Asia Regional Conference on Creation Care and the Gospel which was held on March 17-21, 2014 at the Widus Convention Center in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.  The conference was organized by The Lausanne Movement, the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC), World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), A Rocha, OMF International and Care of Creation, Inc. and attended by theologians, scientists, missionaries, community development workers, and other creation stewardship advocates from 14 countries.

CSM was invited to participate by handling one of the workshops on March 20, which focused on Creation Care in Publications and Training. Ms. Joy Solina, CSM’s Editorial Manager, told the story behind the making of the Creation Care curriculum, which was inspired by the 2009 Theological Forum sponsored by Asian Theological Seminary (ATS), The Earth is the Lord’s: Reflections on Stewardship in the Asian Context. Among those who attended the workshop were Bishop Ephraim Tendero of PCEC and Lausanne representative Edward Brown, founder of Care of Creation, Inc. and author of the book, Our Father’s World: Mobilizing the Church to Care for Creation. This book had served as a valuable reference material for the CSM editorial team in developing the Sunday school curriculum. At the end of the workshop, Ed Brown received a complimentary set as CSM’s token of appreciation.

CSM also held a book display at the conference venue on the day of the workshop to give delegates an opportunity to view and purchase the Creation Care Sunday school curriculum as well as other related CSM titles, such as VBS materials Home Planet: Caring for God’s Creation and The Great Outdoors: Exploring Nature, Experiencing God, a devotional book, Glory and Majesty: God’s Signature on the Philippine Islands, and a Crossover book, Nature is Always Talking.
